Photonics Biosensing for Point-of-Care Diagnostics
2M develops, certifies, and produces photonics biosensing solutions for point-of-care diagnostics. Within 2M we have an extensive track record in creating solutions that measure using light. 2M is experienced with a wide variety of optical sensing principles and techniques for next-generation solutions. Starting from the application we create technological solutions that meet all user, business & medical device regulatory requirements. We can also help with subsequent developments of fully integrated photonics solutions.
PC100 Photonics point-of-care diagnostic device
2M created the PC100 Platelet Counter. This is a photonics point-of-care diagnostic device that can very precisely count platelets in a blood sample. Smart photonics is combined with intelligent algorithms to get reliable platelet counts from very low platelet concentrations up to very high concentrations. A platelet is an extremely small cell of 2-3 micrometers in diameter. The PC100 is an easy-to-use point-of-care diagnostic device that is easy to use and requires minimal to no maintenance. The PC100 is produced at Dutch Medical Devices a sister company of 2M Engineering that is ISO13485 certified and complies with CE IVD regulations (FDA pending).
Next-generation Photonics sensing solutions using fluorescence
We are expanding our photonics biosensing platform by adding the possibility to accurately measure a wide range of other biomarkers in blood. Specific cells can be targeted by staining them using fluorescence markers. These fluorescence cells can be measured using scanning laser technique combined with advanced readout electronics. This extension of our technology platform is currently being developed and will be used to validate the concept.
Next generation Photonics Biosensing solutions
We believe that photonics for point-of-care diagnostic devices can play an essential role in finding practical solutions for improving health care. 2M Engineering offers photonics solutions for point-of-care diagnostic and wearable solutions for medical and professional applications.
