Director Product Creation & New Business

Coen Lauwerijssen graduated in electronic engineering (micro-mechanics) from University of Twente (cum laude) with a minor in business administration. 

Coen worked 8 years for Philips Electronics. He started in the Centre for Industrial Technology in the Sensors & Measurement group as project manager bringing research ideas from concept to industrialized product towards the business. Within Consumer Electronics he was product manager for the new business ‘connected home’ initiative developing and bringing a number of wireless connected products to the market. Next Coen moved to the new business unit ‘Consumer Health and Wellness’ within Domestic Appliances. Spotting and preparing acquisition opportunities for Philips specializing in vital sign sensing, bodily fluids (blood, saliva and urine) and diabetes. Then Coen moved to Hong Kong to setup a local for local business in health monitoring and massage products. His last position in Philips was within the Lifestyle incubator in the DirectLife venture: a connected activity monitor to engage people to lead a more active lifestyle.

Coen joined 2M Engineering January 2008 were he is responsible for product creation, the development team and new business.
