Ambulatory health monitor

VitaMove is an ambulatory health monitoring system capturing physiological signals providing insight into and objectifying patient behavior during daily life situations

Vitamove recorders 300x281 Ambulatory health monitorVitaMove is an ambulatory health monitoring system that measures, stores and automatically analyzes multiple physiological signals for periods up to one week. It enables accurate tracking and objectifying of patient behavior during daily life situations. VitaMove tracks posture, motion, ECG/EMG, heart rate variability (HRV), temperature, respiration and light making it a highly flexible and versatile solution for many ambulatory applications. VitaMove supports up to 8, small, re-chargeable sensor units which are easy and comfortable to wear.
In combination with VitaScore analysis and reporting software, it becomes a powerful tool to easily track progress of intervention, rehabilitation or training programs. VitaScore can provide both high level reports as well as detailed visualization of all measurements.

Key benefits

Accurate and detailed monitoring of daily posture and activity during daily life at multiple locations on the body

  • 3 Dimensional posture and motion tracking based on miniature inertia sensor technology
  • Continuously measures and stores body signs for periods of up to one week on micro SD memory card
  • Synchronized measurement of multiple sensor units on the body

Differentiate between physical and mental strain

  • Records ElectroCardioGram (ECG), HeartRate (HR), respiration and Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
  • Differentiates between physical and mental strain by combining HRV with activity and posture

Full automatic analysis, classification and reporting of measurements

  • Automatic analysis of activity, heart and breathing rate
  • Classification of body activity in 45 different classes
  • Report generation with customizable layouts
  • Re-view and manual editing of measurement data

Easy to use and comfortable to wear

  • Complete one-stop-shop solution optimized for ease of use for both patient and supervisor
  • Event marker to capture special events
  • Lightweight, small size sensors
  • Easy to strap on sensors; no wires attached, uses wireless and rechargeable battery technology

Capture symmetry and extra details of leg and arm movements (requires 2nd leg recorder)

  • Measures symmetry of walking, running, skating and use of hands
  • Measures surface EMG for extra information on tonic and clonic muscle dynamics

Applications

Rehabilitation medicine / neurology / physiotherapy

  • Un-biased daily life capture of daily activities by activity type (lying, sitting, walking, running, cycling, etc.) and time spent per activity
  • Evaluate the symmetry of leg and arm movements (learning to walkwith a prothesis, rehabilitation after stroke, etc. )
  • Evaluate physical strain caused by bodily activities in terms of heart rate
  • Evaluate incidence and amplitude of tremor and epileptic seizures

Internal medicine / cardiology

  • Early detection of hypertension, impaired cardiovasclar conditions or mental strain (stress), for example with OSA patients
  • Insight into improved relaxation or improved cardiovascular conditions
  • Put sudden HR increases during daily life measurements into activity context (heart rate increases by walking the stairs)
  • Evaluate effectiveness of certain medications and find optimal dosage

Sleep medicine

  • Global week overviews of 24 hour sleep/ wake pattern (sleepstructure) and activity cycles with classification by activity type, including exposure to light and chronobiology studies
  • Early detection with minimal impact on patients for continuity of sleep and disruptions casued by Obstructive Sleep Apnea including daily inactivity profile due to chronic day-time fatigue in OSA patients
  • Replace subjective diaries and questionnaires by objective, fact based information

General practitioners / Occupational health

  • Un-biased daily life capture of daily activities by activity type (lying, sitting, walking, running, cycling, etc.) and time spent per activity (CANS related problems)
  • Early indication of mental strain (stress) during office hours and physical and cardiovascular recovery during sleep
  • Overviews of 24 hour sleep/ wake and activity patterns for dedicated professions (shift-workers, truck-drivers, aircrew, etc.)

Professional sports / sports medicine

  • Qualify aspects of body postures and motion (speed, regularity, efficiency and symmetry of walking, running, cycling, skating, skiing, etc.) with special focus on endurance sports
  • Dynamics of muscle contraction and fatigue through clonic and tonic EMG components
  • Evaluate effects of top-performance on heart rate
  • Evaluate time-course of physical strain and recovery before, during and after delivering top performance
  • Optimize performance by differentiating mental from physical strain
  • Assess physical recuperation during sleep

Research

  • Field studies in selected populations or individuals to objectify behavioral improvement of hyperactive
